Tide's Watch
Situated on a stunning stretch of the Northumberland coastline, Tide’s Watch is a sophisticated escape for those yearning for sand and sea. Located in the picturesque fishing village of Beadnell, its thoughtful design capitalises on its setting to full effect. Expansive windows frame far-reaching sea views out to the North Sea, whose boundless waves and fresh breezes will form the constant backdrop to your stay.
The open-plan kitchen and dining area lies to the left of the entrance hall, flowing with ease out through double doors and into the garden. Cool and minimalist, the kitchen features quartz worktops and three stools at the breakfast bar – perfect for leisurely breakfasting by early risers – while the window seat is the ideal spot to weather-watch as you plan your day. Whether the sun is shining or rain clouds are rolling in, you have a choice of two spacious dining tables to enjoy meals together, one beside the kitchen and the other outside on the deck.
On the ground floor you’ll also find two of the bedrooms, one a twin and the other a double; the former features its own door to the garden while the latter enjoys sea views. Blending industrial minimalism with all the cosiness of Scandi hygge, they’re soothing rooms in which to relax after long days spent on the coast and are both served by a family bathroom, complete with an inviting rainforest shower.
Upstairs, a mezzanine living room is warmed by an impressive log burner and boasts a floor-to-ceiling feature window. The mid-century style furnishings, contemporary wall art, and glass balustrade contribute to the pared-back appeal of this room. Next door is the master bedroom, with a king-size four-poster bed and Hypnos mattress amidst a calming palette of pink, sage and cream. This understated opulence is complemented by even more sea views and an ensuite bathroom, including a roomy bath.
The garden is a true suntrap and its fire pit provides a great spot to gather in the evening. Beadnell Bay is a well-loved location for watersports enthusiasts while numerous breathtaking walking trails and golf courses also lie on your doorstep. The house features its own lockable garage for storing all your kit – be it surf boards, bikes, or golf clubs – while a purpose-built hanging rail for wetsuits ensures you’ll be ready to tackle the waves again in the morning.
