“I am an award-winning professional caterer and have devoted my working life to cooking. I started my outside catering business some 23 years ago, after growing up as a farmer’s daughter and working as a cook in a country house. Well-known throughout north Northumberland and the Borders for my delight in and support for local produce, I serve Slow Food wherever possible and am only too happy to discuss the provenance of my ingredients. I offer a complete dinner party service, which can range from a three course dinner or a lighter two course supper to suit your personal requirements.”
"Simple. Seasonal. Delicious. FIG takes the best quality, locally sourced ingredients and brings them to life in simply realised dishes for your special occasion. "Food has always been a passion of mine, whether creating a new recipe or discovering a new ingredient, sharing the pure, distilled joy of simply made, delicious food is what drives me. Seasonal cooking has become a bit of a buzzword recently but has always been at the very heart of my cooking. The depth and intensity of flavour that comes with in-season produce is an absolute necessity and forms the foundations of all of my dishes."

"I like to provide a bespoke service, providing clients with delicious homemade dishes which are prepared in my farm house kitchen using local, fresh and seasonal ingredients. I am more than happy to discuss dietary needs, prepare family favourites or discuss menu choices."
"I have been working with food for over 20 years. I like to think that from my years of experience, knowledge and love of food, I can give you the freshest of ingredients, the most innovative menus, the friendliest and most professional staff and perhaps that individuality that you just don't get from the bigger companies. I have a real passion for food and its provenance. Scotland has a natural larder of fantastic foods and I love to showcase these as much as possible in a sometimes quirky but always imaginative way! This means fresh, local and seasonal and it all helps to cut down on food miles. To this end I use a lot of small, local suppliers based in and around the Scottish Borders.”

"I am based in Melrose in the beautiful Scottish Borders. I have always loved to cook and have enjoyed seeing people take pleasure in eating the food that I have made for them. Cookery was my favourite subject in school and to this day I take take pleasure in creating and tasting new dishes. Holidays abroad are all about discovering the food culture of the places I visit. After a career as a teacher I decided to develop my cooking knowledge and skills, and enrolled on a six month cookery diploma at the Edinburgh Newtown Cookery School. I loved every minute of my course and decided to combine my two passions - cooking and teaching - with my own business Cook in Melrose. I provide private catering and a homemade meal delivery service in addition to bespoke cookery lessons."

“I am local to the Scottish Borders and have worked in the catering business for many years. With my varied experience, passion for and knowledge of food, I would be delighted to discuss your dining requirements for your stay in a Crabtree & Crabtree property.”
"After 8 years as chef/proprietor of Marynka Restaurant in Linlithgow, I have been running my catering business, Hyndberry, since 2008. Now based in Peebles I provide catering throughout the Scottish Borders and in Edinburgh.I am interested in cooking for special diets, and recently completed a diploma in nutrition. So as well as offering the standard style of food, all of our catering can be prepared to meet the needs of any special diet - eg. free of gluten, dairy or other allergens, vegan, low sugar, etc. As our food is all made to order from scratch with fresh ingredients (using local and seasonal wherever possible) nothing unwanted can get into it. If you’re looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner, a buffet, canapés and cocktails (non-alcoholic!) or a supply of food for the freezer while you’re on holiday please contact me to discuss."

"I've had a passion for cooking all my life which led to me changing career in 2013 to follow my foodie dream. My business is called Jo's Kitchen, inspired by a dinner guest saying "you always get amazing food in Jo's Kitchen!" I have gone from strength to strength in last 20 months cooking in some incredible locations for some amazing people. I run pop up restaurant nights in unusual spaces all over East Lothian and these fill up quickly due to imaginative menus, attention to detail and seriously delicious food. I don't have set menus or ideas but prefer to work with every client to make their supper/event/holiday or even wedding perfect. I would love to help make your stay in a fabulous Crabtree & Crabtree holiday cottage even more special with some wonderful food and lovely service."
“I trained at the fabulous Grain Store restaurant in Edinburgh which champions the best of Scottish produce, prepared and presented to the very highest standard. I have since worked at Osso (Michelin Bib Gourmand 3 years running) and been contracted to re-vamp the menus and kitchen practice in two theatre restaurants; The Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh, and the Heart of Hawick here in the Borders. My business, Wild Dining, offers everything from riverside picnics, shooting weekends and intimate dinner parties to weddings, christenings and large scale canapé parties. Whatever the size or style of event, my approach mirrors my training at the Grain Store - the very best ingredients, lovingly prepared and meticulously presented.”

"My passion is for Spanish and Mediterranean food; I ran my own tapas restaurant for five years and now work as a private chef. If you're looking for something a little different with imaginative menus prepared by an experienced chef who is passionate bout quality and flavour, why not try a tapas style dinner party. We'd typically start with some of my freshly baked bread, olives and nibbles to get your taste buds going. Then I'd serve a selection of hot tapas dishes, and/or Paella, with a variety of flavours, followed by a homemade dessert. All you need to do is enjoy the evening with your friends and family!"
