Barefoot Pilgrims Walk to Holy Island
Berwick-upon-Tweed
TD15 2PB
A guided tidal crossing to Holy Island with local storytelling and wildlife spotting
Experience the powerful sense of journey that comes from walking the ancient pilgrims’ path to Holy Island, guided by local expert Patrick Norris.
Timed carefully with the tides, this barefoot crossing of the Lindisfarne causeway is both grounding and exhilarating. Along the way, Patrick shares stories of St Cuthbert, local history and the wildlife that inhabits the shifting sands, with seals often spotted resting nearby.
On arrival at Holy Island, you’ll enjoy a generous picnic featuring local produce on a quiet stretch of beach. Suitable for adults and children aged six and over, this is a meaningful and memorable way to experience one of Northumberland’s most iconic places.
