We are thrilled to present Neville Tower, part of Northumberland’s iconic Bamburgh Castle and one of the most unique holiday homes to be launched on the Northumberland Coast for many years.
Part of Northumberland's iconic Bamburgh Castle
The Tower, which has spacious accommodation over three floors, has been fully renovated to a high standard throughout and sits within the walls of Bamburgh Castle, moments from Bamburgh's stunning beach. The highlight is the impressive top floor living area with incredible far-reaching views to the north and south over Bamburgh beach, the Farne Islands and Holy Island.
On the first floor there’s a fully-equipped kitchen with informal dining area, bedroom with king size bed and bathroom with bath with shower over.
The ground floor is split level with an entrance hall at one level leading down to a second bedroom with zip and link beds (which can be super king or twin) and adjacent WC, providing privacy for two couples holidaying together. Both bedrooms are spacious with fabulous views over Bamburgh’s magnificent beach, whilst the kitchen overlooks the village and the Castle Keep and Inner Ward.
The period styling includes heritage colours by Farrow & Ball, Jim Lawrence lighting, bespoke curtains and cushions in sumptuous crewel, linen and velvet fabrics and beautiful wool throws by innovative Welsh designer Melin Tregwynt.
On entering the property, there is a small entrance hall with cloakroom area with coat hooks. The property sits on 3 levels with 32 steps in total from top to bottom.
Lower Ground Floor
Bedroom two with zip and link beds that can be 6' super king or 3' twins on request, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and decorative feature fireplace.
Adjacent to the bedroom is a WC and basin.
Kitchen with single oven with 4 ring electric hob, fridge with freezer box, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso machine. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of good quality china, glasses and cookware. There is a dining table (seats 4) for informal dining.
Family bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC.
Bedroom one with king size bed, large armoire and dressing table. Hanging space is provided in a wardrobe on the landing above.
Landing with study area with desk.
Open-plan living area with dining table (seats 6) and seating area with two sofas, TV with Freeview and DVD player, DVDs, books and games. This impressive room has magnificent far reaching views to the north and south over the beach to the Farne Islands and Holy Island.
There is no private outside space at Neville Tower, however the beach is just a few minutes’ walk from the Tower. There are a number of apartments within the Castle and guests are asked to be considerate to other residents when in the grounds. Picnics are not allowed in the grounds other than in a designated area. During Castle opening hours, guests should not be using any wheeled toys, bicycles, etc within the grounds and ball games are not permitted at any time.
There is no vehicular access to Neville Tower other than unloading on arrival and loading on departure. Guests can park free of charge in car parks outwith the Castle walls and access Neville Tower on foot. A map will be provided on arrival that clearly marks temporary parking for loading and unloading along with car parks for longer term parking.
Babies & Children
A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
Regretfully Neville Tower is not suitable for pets.
The beds are made up with high quality Egyptian cotton bed linen, feather and duck down duvets and pillows. Hypoallergenic bedding is available for bedroom one on request. A hairdryer is provided in both bedrooms. Guest toiletries are provided along with luxurious bath sheets and hand towels.
Wi-Fi & Mobile Coverage

The property has oil fired central heating.
Guest Privacy - Important
Neville Tower is an integral part of Bamburgh Castle which is open to the public every day from mid-February until the end of October. The opening hours are 10am to 5pm. The rest of the year, the castle is open at weekends only from 11am to 4.30pm. Guests should therefore be aware that there will be members of the public in the Castle and grounds during these times.
Discounted entry to the Castle is included.
There are weddings held at the Castle throughout the year which usually include a drinks reception on the battlements between 5pm and 7pm. Please contact us if you have any concerns.
There are also events, including filming, taking place at the castle. Please click here for further information. Guests may attend outdoor concerts or events run by the castle free of charge, but tickets would have to be purchased for any concerts held in the Kings Hall or those run by outside agencies, outdoors.
With friendly local shops, quaint tea-rooms, cosy pubs and restaurants on the doorstep as well as miles upon miles of stunning white sands within walking distance it is part of the reason visitors return to this area year-after-year, and why it remains one of the most popular beach destinations in England.
For dining-out, you can enjoy fantastic seafood at The Potted Lobster; the Mizen for a superior eating experience; or the Victoria Hotel if you like great pub food and a great chat next to the fire. Alternatively try the Castle Hotel for a good pub meal and pretty beer garden; or The Copper Kettle a characterful little tea-room serving a selection of freshly baked scones, cake and light-bites. A short drive will take you to the popular Barn at Beal with amazing views over the causeway to Holy Island, or head a little further down coast to the Ship Inn at Low Newton (9 miles) which has a reputation for serving excellent local food (their crab sandwiches are legendary!) along with ales from their own micro-brewery.
For provisions, The Pantry is a super deli selling meats, cheeses, preserves, freshly baked bread and smoked fish as well as lots of naughty puddings which all come from renowned local suppliers across the area. For picnics or lunches on-the-go, they will prepare sandwiches on request along with freshly ground coffee, or can arrange for food hampers full of gourmet goodies to be made up for your arrival at your holiday home. J Carter has been the village butchers for 125 years serving only the finest locally produced meat, homemade pies and award winning bacon which is cured and smoked on the premises. You will also find a family run greengrocers in the walled garden which was once used to serve the Castle.
