Inside, the accommodation is light, bright and presented with great attention to detail. The convivial open-plan living area achieves the perfect balance of cosiness and sophistication. There are enticing sofas, cashmere throws, eye-catching original artwork from local artists and a captivating view from the floor to ceiling windows over the mill race and burn. There is wi fi, a Smart TV and an iDock, cosy fireside seating for the cooler months and floor to ceiling patio doors to let in the fresh Northumbrian air on warmer days. Long, leisurely meals can be spent admiring the view from the dining area or outside on the terrace with the bubbling burn in the background. The kitchen comes extensively-equipped including a welcome pack of local goodies awaiting guests on arrival.
The bedrooms - light, bright and immaculately-presented - have TVs with Freeview, ample storage and zip and link super king size or twin beds for flexibility. Top quality mattresses, sumptuous feather and down pillows and duvets and crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen aid a good night's sleep.

For guests looking to holiday together, there are seven other properties on the same estate - Brunton Granary sleeping 8, Brunton Burn sleeping 2, Brunton Lake sleeping 4, Swallow Dean sleeping 2, Long Byre sleeping 2, Brunton House sleeping 16, and Stable Cottage sleeping 6. Long Byre, Swallow Dean, Brunton Lake, Brunton Burn and Mill Race cottages form part of a renovated farm steading in that order going clockwise around the courtyard. Brunton Granary adjoins Brunton Burn at the rear. Brunton House and Stable Cottage sit on the opposite side of the burn.

FISHING ON SITE
There is informal fishing available on the lake which is stocked with trout and is ideal for family and friends who wish to dabble. There are also wild brown trout in the burn. It is on a catch and release basis and there is no charge.

OUTSIDE
To the front of the property is a small, enclosed terrace with outside seating. Guests have use of the wider estate that extends to some 2,500 acres. Guests with small children should be aware that there is a river and mill pond within the vicinity of the cottage.
There is private parking to the side of the cottage.
Location
Set within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Embleton is a pretty village which is perfect for a coastal escape. The village is perched on a ridge with breathtaking views over Embleton Bay, a vast sandy beach which is overlooked by the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. This setting provides the perfect backdrop for leisurely walks, wildlife spotting, and lazy days spent enjoying the sea air.
The ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle can be reached via a scenic clifftop walk which is dotted with sheep and provides a glimpse into the area's fascinating history. Local amenities include several charming pubs and cosy cafés, while nearby Craster, famous for its smoked kippers and harbour, is a must-visit spot for seafood lovers.
For day trips, the grand castle and diverse gardens in the historic town of Alnwick are just a short distance away. The Northumbrian coastline is filled with gems to explore, from the towering Bamburgh Castle to the wildlife-rich Farne Islands and the historic castle and priory on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
