The Little Things We Love

The far reaching views over the Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland National Park.

Don't take our word for it...

The accommodation was first class and the housekeeper could not have been more helpful and welcoming. My wife and I would definitely recommend this cottage to our friends and family. We have stayed in over fifty cottages over the years and this one was the very best.
Pennington family, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

We had a lovely time. The cottage is gorgeous and unlike many other places we have stayed at there really was enough space for 7 people, the kitchen was well equipped and over all we could not fault it. We give it 10/10 and have already discussed going back next new year! Thank you to Crabtree & Crabtree for their excellent work and help in having made this a truly fabulous holiday!
Hutchison family, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

We had a lovely stay. The cottage provided all we needed. Great space and location. The welcome pack a lovely idea. The kitchen was very well resourced. Plenty of information on local attractions, etc.
Shaw family, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

We had a fantastic time at College Cottage! Our party consisted of myself, my sister and my brother and our other halves, and two dogs. The accommodation was perfect, especially the luxury of a bathroom per couple! It's fair to say that the property is off the beaten track, but the views were amazing, and well worth the drive and the four cattle grids! This is a beautiful time of year to visit The Borders. We will definitely use Crabtree & Crabtree again. All of your cottages look stunning! Looking forward to the next time!
Harman family, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

We had a marvellous time at College Cottage, made all the more lovely by the immaculate presentation and Christmas decorations! We are already thinking about where to spend next Christmas with a slightly larger group and would like to visit the area again before then so I'm sure we'll be in touch soon! Thank you for making our holiday really special at a very difficult time for the family, we all really appreciated it.
Laing party, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

I can safely say that my entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at College Cottage. We have booked a number of your properties in the past and each and every time we have been happy with the comfort and level of décor in your cottages. In particular, what we loved about College Cottage was how secluded it was and how spectacular the scenery was. The lack of phone signal was actually a bonus as far as we were concerned, as it allowed us time to shut ourselves away from the our normal busy schedule and instead spend some quality time with our family. The only down side to our holiday was that it simply was not long enough! We look forward to booking another property with Crabtree & Crabtree once again in the near future.
Leach family, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

Yet again the owners and estate staff have made our welcome amazing. Please pass on our thanks to the housekeeper and her team. They have made our stay fantastic. The “Welcome” pack, the clean cottage and their professionalism has been brilliant. We will be back to enjoy what is an outstanding holiday “home”. Thank you to all at Crabtree & Crabtree for your help.

It was lovely! 2nd time we've stayed there and I hope won't be the last. Utterly gorgeous, especially the wood burner and the beautiful quality bedding. Thank you.

Mr Forrest
I celebrated a wonderful 80th birthday with my family at Bowmont and College cottages. Everything in the cottages was of the highest order and the location was spectacular. Even the weather was amazingly benign for mid-February. Many thanks for giving us a great holiday.
Harvey family
We had a lovely weekend at your cottage. The cottage was lovely as always and very clean on arrival. It’s a lovely location and we are looking forward to returning in the near future.
Davis family
We had a lovely week at College Cottage and very lucky with good weather. The cottage was delightful - comfortable, nicely decorated & furnished with comfortable beds, wonderful duvets and pillows and lovely linen. Good equipment in the kitchen and actually felt like a place that someone had lived in/thought about as thoughtfully done with plugs near mirrors (for hair drying), lamps to make it feel cosy and cushions and nice pictures. Appreciated the welcome hamper with nice goodies including Prosecco, fruit cake, fresh bread and more. All super. Views from the cottage were amazing and great for a complete detox. Loved the light nights till 10.30pm. Laughed at the cows who ensured they were on the track whenever we came home and let us know they weren’t intimidated by the car as they reluctantly moved off as we crawled forward! A very long journey for us from London but worth it for the beautiful scenery and all the lovely places to see on the Northumberland coast and inland like Bamburgh, Cragside, Alnwick, Craster, Warkworth, Amble, Alnmouth and Holy Island. Just perfect at this time of year. Thanks, we loved it.
