Dog Friendly
An inviting dog-friendly cottage, perfect for holidays spent exploring the Northumbrian coast.
Set between the charming fishing village of Craster and the historic market town of Alnwick, Littlehoughton Farm Cottage enjoys an enviable position on the Northumbrian coastline. Just a couple of miles away from the sea, it’s tucked away amidst characteristically pretty countryside, surrounded by herbaceous borders, leafy woodland, and pastoral farmland.

Combining historic original features with soft contemporary style, this recently renovated cottage is a laid-back country retreat. Enter through the front door into its open-plan living area, where vaulted wooden beams extend above a large inglenook fireplace, lined with red bricks and home to a warming log burner. French blue sofas create a cosy space to relax with your newspaper and pot of coffee in the morning, while the modern kitchen lies to side of the room. Thoughtfully designed with subtle wooden cabinets, an induction hob, and coffee machine, it creates a bright environment in which to cook and socialise. The dining table and chairs can be found beyond the living area, set beside the garden door which leads out onto the south-facing patio. Another table and chairs look out over the lawn, so you can look forward to dining al fresco on balmier days.

The bedrooms both lie up three steps from the living space. The first features a super king size bed which can also be configured as twins, joined by large windows which draw sunlight and leafy views of the garden beyond into the room, in addition to an ensuite bathroom with a rainforest shower next door. The second bedroom also features a super king size bed which can be configured as twins, an ensuite bathroom, and botanical patterned textiles.

The large lawned garden is enclosed by high panelled fencing and planting, providing privacy from the neighbouring cottages as well as offering plenty of safe space for dogs to play. A short drive will take you to the grand rooms, gardens, and arboretum at the neighbouring Howick Hall, to which guests can enjoy complementary access, while days out at the equally stunning Alnwick Gardens and Castle and the dramatic beaches and ruins along the coast are also at your fingertips.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION

For guests looking to holiday together but enjoy their own space, Littlehoughton Farm Cottage can be let in conjunction with Littlehoughton Hall, sleeping 6, which is located a short walk away.
