Beautifully appointed, the Coach House is perfectly positioned for both coast and country and offers a perfect retreat to indulge family, friends or corporate guests to a stay in luxury surroundings.

Formerly the old coach house for the Lesbury Estate, a great deal of thought has gone into the development of this property and the result is a perfect fusion of comfort and elegance with meticulous attention to detail.

The ground floor has immediate impact opening up into a generous open plan living space which flows seamlessly from the high spec catering kitchen with granite surfaces, walnut bar and wine fridge to a superb dining space which seats eight comfortably.

With high vaulted ceilings, the property has grand proportions yet retains warmth and intimacy with a double-sided wood burner connecting the dining area to the sitting area, all beautifully balanced with original stonework, rich oak floors and beams, vintage leather and Harris Tweed to introduce warmth and texture to this incredibly atmospheric space.

The four en-suite bedrooms are serene and streamlined featuring a neutral colour palette and high quality finishes which perfectly complements the rest of the property. Super king beds, luxurious duck down duvets, high quality White Company bed linen and underfloor heating in the bathrooms all add to the feeling of quality and well-being.

For country sports enthusiasts, facilities include a boot room (with underfloor heating) and gun cabinet, with kennels and stables available to guests at additional cost. Outside, there is a private courtyard with outdoor seating for al-fresco dining and summer barbecues, external storage, a communal garden, and off-street parking for four vehicles.

The cosy, country pub The Coach Inn is just a short stroll from the cottage in the centre of Lesbury – a great spot for a relaxing drink or hearty pub meal after a beach walk or country hike (Open Wednesday – Sunday).

Location

Something of a hidden gem in the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the pretty coastal village of Alnmouth is nestled along the north bank of the River Aln estuary. Dubbed the Tobermory of Northumberland, pastel-coloured cottages line the waterfront while the sweeping golden sands of Alnmouth beach are perfect for walks away from the crowds amidst diverse birdlife.

The village offers a lively selection of pubs, restaurants, independent shops, and galleries and hosts numerous events through the year, including the summer Arts Festival and the Beer Festival in October. Fast trains from Edinburgh and London stop at Alnmouth train station just over a mile outside the village, making it an ideal place for a coastal getaway without a car.

The historic town of Alnwick lies just five miles down the road, where you’ll find several welcoming pubs, a farmer's market, and the popular attractions of Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden. Further popular spots along the Northumbrian coastline are also within easy reach, such as Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands which is seasonally populated by hundreds of seals and puffins.

The Little Things We Love

The double sided log burner that radiates a magical warmth throughout the living area.

Don't take our word for it...

This is a beautiful home. Very spacious with all the equipment we needed. We loved the double-fronted wood-burning stove; it made it more cosy. The location was great, too - the perfect stay with great friends.
Ms Kirk, 4th March 2025

Don't take our word for it...

We had a wonderful week at the Coach House in Lesbury. The property was beautiful and exceptionally well-appointed, with everything you could possibly need. The furnishings and layout of the property were superb and I would highly recommend this cottage. Lesbury was ideally suited to roam around Northumberland as it is very central and all the best sights were never far away.
Mrs Lea, 13th February 2025

Don't take our word for it...

The Coach House is fantastic and the service we had was absolutely superb - please pass on our thanks. The house is gorgeous, and very well located. We were there to celebrate my daughters wedding in the Alnwick Gardens Treehouse and the house gave us a fantastic base, with lots of room for everyone to have their own space. Thanks again, we will certainly be booking with you in the future.
Richards family, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

The whole holiday has been delightful. The efficient dealings with Crabtree & Crabtree and the Coach house just made for a perfect holiday with the family. The weather was also fantastic showing Alnmouth and the coast at its very best. What a lovely part of England on our doorstep. We will keep looking for our next holiday on your site. Please thank the owners for providing a lovely house.

Don't take our word for it...

I have to say the Coach House more than met our expectations. It was brilliant to find a property suitable for an adult group, all en suite rooms, large king sized beds, proper wooden shutters for a dark, quiet room, it was wonderful to have such a comfortable environment for best sleep we’ve had in ages. The kitchen was marvellous too, so much space and well equipped. Also loads of space in the laundry area for our golf clubs and secure storage for the bikes meant we were never tripping over anything. We loved the outdoor space too, made use of the BBQ a couple of nights and the garden was a delight as was the village itself, so yes, definitely intend to book again as there’s so much to see and do in the area.
Ms MacBain, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

We have had a fantastic stay at the Coach House. The house was well appointed and user friendly. The staff and the whole booking service was impeccable. It is very difficult to find any fault.
Mrs Marr, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

My family and I enjoyed every moment of our stay in the Coach House. Absolutely superb accommodation, you seemed to have thought of everything. We loved the area around Lesbury and the grown ups would need no persuasion to return. We shall look back on our week in Lesbury as guests of Crabtree and Crabtree with great pleasure.
Roberts family, 18th March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

Firstly I would like to say what a lovely property The Coach House is, it is everything we expected and more, we have stayed in around 10 different property over the last few years and this one is up there if not the best. Thank you to the team who work on the property.
