An idyllic countryside retreat nestled on the Teviot Bank Estate, perfectly positioned for exploring the scenic surrounding region of the Scottish Borders.
Tucked away amidst the rolling landscapes of the Teviot Bank Estate, this idyllic countryside hideaway is a pocketful of charm, with miles of bucolic countryside to explore from the doorstep. From picturesque walking and cycling trails to on-site fishing along Teviot Bank’s own tranquil stretch of river, days here lend themselves to fresh air, adventure and unhurried exploration. For those seeking a slower pace, retreat to the warmth of the crackling wood burner, where cosy interiors invite you to unwind, reconnect and savour the simple pleasures of country living.

Inside, a light-filled and spacious kitchen creates a warm and inviting heart to the home, with glazed double doors opening onto a private garden, beautifully framed by mature woodland. Throughout the warmer months, enjoy a wonderful sense of indoor-outdoor living, as birdsong drifts in from the woodland and the garden becomes a natural extension of the kitchen. Fully equipped with sleek countertops, an elegant Belfast sink and dual aspect windows, the space is home to a sociable dining table seating up to four guests, offering an inviting spot for convivial mornings and lingering suppers.

Next door, you’ll find a bright and comfortable sitting room with two sumptuous sofas, an ambient wood burning stove, indulgent wool carpets and picture-perfect views across the garden, stretching towards the undulating fields beyond. Whether you’re longing for a snug evening by the fire, or simply a quiet spot to unwind and take in the spectacular scenery, you’ll be perfectly placed for relaxation.

Tucked upstairs, the generous master bedroom offers a restful retreat with an inviting king size bed, traditional decorative fireplace and fabulous views stretching towards Rubers Law, The Minto Hill and Waterloo Monument. Thoughtfully considered fabrics from delicate dragonfly print curtains to bright, patterned accent cushions, reflect the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. Equally airy and home to two ¾ beds, the second bedroom boasts delightful views over the garden. A contemporary family bathroom can also be found upstairs featuring a bath and overhead shower, as well as indulgent Highland Soap toiletries.

Nestled within an attractive private garden, here you can enjoy sun-soaked afternoons on the terrace, which offers a sheltered sun trap set against the attractive stable wall, or alfresco picnics on the well-maintained and generous lawn.

If you’d like to explore the fabulous surrounding region, a short 15-minute drive will take you to Harestanes where an exhilarating play park is perfect for entertaining little ones. History buffs will delight in the proximity to Hawick and Jedburgh, with a variety of fascinating sites to discover from Jedburgh Castle Jail and Museum, Mary Queen of Scot’s Visitor Centre and Borders Textile Towerhouse. When the weather allows, discover the magnificent Rubers Law Loop, boasting panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Similarly, the South Minto Hill and Fatlips Castle trail is a wonderful fusion of fascinating historical landmarks and stunning scenery.
