Nestled in the picturesque town of Lauder, the Flat Cat Art Gallery offers a vibrant collection of contemporary and traditional fine art, featuring a dynamic roster of artists from the Scottish Borders and beyond. The gallery showcases an eclectic mix of media, including ceramics, sculpture, and jewellery, reflecting the region’s rich artistic talent.
Established in 1998, the Flat Cat originally featured eastern rugs and local artworks. While the rugs are no longer on offer, the gallery retains its distinctive name, inspired by Tibetan “flat cat” rugs. Visitors can also enjoy a delightful café, serving freshly made sandwiches, cakes, traybakes, along with a selection of delicious coffees and speciality teas.
