Located on the edge of Crookham Eastfield Farm, and surrounded by rolling countryside and superb walks, this charming and immaculately presented former working farm smithy is an idyllic setting for couples to cosy up in, or somewhere welcoming and relaxing for friends to base themselves, whilst they sample and enjoy the ample hidden treasures of this beautiful, peaceful and historic area.

Retaining several original features such as exposed beams, stone walls and the smithy open fireplace, this delightful cottage exudes rustic charm whilst offering excellent home comforts.

The accommodation at The Smithy is all one level and sleeps two guests in one double bedroom. (two additional guests can be accommodated as there is a double sofa bed in the lounge).

Kitchen with dining area

Fabulous, handmade, compact and fully-equipped kitchen with 5 ring electric hob and double oven, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. The dresser has capacity for storing groceries and the window sill tray offers an additional storage facility for dry products such as cereals. The dining area has seating for four guests.

Sitting room area with exposed beams and the original smithy open fire, (logs are provided) sofa and double sofa bed. A long side table provides the option of more formal dining and seats 6+ guests. There is plenty of indoor entertainment provided including HD television with Freeview, DVD player, i-dock and a selection of books and board games.

Bedroom with 6' double bed, dressing table and built-in wardrobe. (the bedroom can be set up as a twin room if desired).

Shower room with fantastic rainforest power shower, whb, heated towel rail and WC.

Garden and grounds

To the front of the property is a private graveled garden area with picnic table; this leads on to a lawn stretching round to the side of the property. The front aspect of the property looks out over fields and offers guests privacy. The rear of the house looks out onto the driveway (the access to the property) and further afield towards the farm itself. Please note that the windows of the living areas of The Smithy all face away from the farm.

Parking

There is private parking to the rear of the house, on the driveway.

Catering and housekeeping

The Smithy can be let on a pure self-catering basis or treat yourself to a proper rest and book a cook (either full time or for the occasional, special meal) or homemade meals delivered to the house. Alternatively, we offer a food-shopping and wine delivery service. Daily housekeeping is also available. Please contact us for further details.

Facilities for babies

A travel cot and high chair are available on request.

Dogs

Two dogs are welcome at The Smithy. We would ask that owners adhere to the guidelines in the pre-arrival information with regard to dogs.
