A fabulous Scandi-chic beach apartment set just above the picturesque sands of Coldingham Bay.

Dotted with beach huts and ringed with wildlife-rich dunes and grassland, the horseshoe-shaped Coldingham Bay is one of the most picturesque beaches in southern Scotland. Only a smattering of homes pepper the grassy slopes above the kilometre-long white sand beach, amongst them the pair of strikingly contemporary Bay Villas.

With sweeping views over the bay and ocean beyond it, the Villas are set back far enough from the water’s edge to allow you to take in the dramatic coastline while being near enough to go for an early morning swim and stroll on the sand.

There can be few cooler places to call home after a surf than 6 The Bay, a spacious first floor apartment in the Bay Villas that combines sea views with laidback Scandi interiors. Drop your beach togs in the utility room, wash off the sand in one of the apartment’s two slick monochrome bathrooms, rustle up a snack in the super high-spec kitchen, throw open the full-height glass sliding doors to the sheltered, sunlit balcony and kick back on a deck chair soaking up the sea views.

It’s a beachy way of life you’ll soon grow accustomed to while staying at 6 The Bay, which brings the sea indoors with its two nautical-inspired bedrooms, each decorated with specially commissioned photography of Coldingham Bay, and a relaxed chic open-plan living space. The epitome of modern living, the sea view kitchen and dining area combines a streamlined high-gloss kitchen with a chunky timber dining table and benches, with an additional dining table on the balcony for al fresco meals. Simple blonde wooden furniture, potted plants, botanical prints and a tan leather chaise sofa complete the laidback vibe of this stylish living space.

While you’re not soaking up the views of Coldingham Bay from the balcony, you can head down to the sand itself to enjoy excellent surfing, diving and kayaking - professional instruction in all three pursuits is available through the nearby St. Vedas Surf Shop. There are also plenty of walking routes in the local vicinity, including a scenic coastal walk that takes in the pretty fishing village of St. Abbs, the perfect spot for a tasty seafood chowder or crab baguette. Should you fancy a day trip, choices include the historic coastal town of Berwick-upon-Tweed and vibrant City of Edinburgh.

The Little Things We Love

This is a playful, joyful space in which to enjoy the superb views and vibrant beach life of Coldingham Sands.

Don't take our word for it...

A spectacular location overlooking Coldingham Bay. Superbly appointed apartment to make your stay special. Little treats left by the owner very welcome too. This stunning area of Berwickshire remains largely unspoilt and is a delight for beach goers and walkers alike. Everything you need is within walking distance to the cafes in St Abbs and Coldingham, and the well stocked shop and Butchers in Coldingham. Cannot wait to rebook my holiday for next year.

It is a beautiful apartment and a lovely walk to the little beach. Thank you for the welcome pack. It was great to be on holiday again after lockdown. We were in Edinburgh for an event so decided to spend a few extra days at your fantastic apartment!

Lovely apartment, well equipped and amazing location! Lindisfarne - very special, Seahouses, St. Abb’s Head – great walks with spectacular views, Farne Isles boat trip – excellent, spotted seals and puffins.

Don't take our word for it...

What an amazing apartment! It felt like home as soon as we walked in. We were also met by the owners who have a Border Terrier, just like us and we knew straight away that the standard would be high and welcoming, just like them! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your holiday home. The views are amazing and the beach is so near and lovely. Thanks to the cleaners! We arrived early and they were so helpful about parking etc. Thank you also for all the welcome pack details. Just makes it all welcoming!

A fabulous apartment in a superb setting. Spacious, comfortable, warm and well-equipped. We loved the cliff path walk to St. Abbs and wandering around Berwick and Eyemouth. Appreciated the smart speaker and large TV during the darker evenings. Thank you for the welcome pack. We have had a very peaceful and restful week.

We had a great stay here. It is a wonderful place to relax and have family time. The weather was kind to us, so plenty of beach, surf and SUP time.
Uglow family
All to brief but a wonderful break, the flat is great, so well furnished. We had plenty of walks to St. Abbs, and up to the remains of Milldown Farm which belonged to the family in the early 20th century. We hope to be back next year. Thank you.
Kilgour family
Thank you for a perfect stay! We have visited St. Abbs and Coldingham countless times and 6 The Bay is by far and away the best place we have rented – the apartment is so well equipped and the view is unrivalled! The owners have thought of absolutely everything, thank you! We would recommend a walk along St. Abbs Head to see the seals, as well as chips from Eyemouth and cooking a meal with fresh seafood. No doubt we will be back again soon!
Harkness family
What an amazing flat! We loved the beach, seeing the sun come up and playing pirates. We will be back again in the summer hopefully for more adventures. We will be taking décor ideas home too…
Mr Anderson
We've had a great time at 6 The Bay. It's a very lovely apartment and fully lived up to the description. We think it's the best holiday rental we've ever found in the UK. It matches the quality of the best of Mediterranean properties we've experienced. We are now trying to plan a return visit. Thank you to the owners and Crabtree & Crabtree for this spectacularly good experience.
Ward Family
Amazing apartment, stunning location, glorious weather. We have loved our holiday here. The pub in st Abbs is excellent, surf lessons at St Vedas fab. Good food at the New Inn in Coldingham. Worth the walk to St Abbs Lighthouse for stunning views.
