Eyemouth Beach
A Coastal Gem on the East Coast
Framed by black rocks to the west and harbour walls to the east, Eyemouth Beach is an ideal spot for catching crabs and starfish. This East Coast beach, though fairly exposed, offers reliable surf except during the mostly flat summer months.
A scenic coastal path runs from the fishing village of St Abbs along clifftops and beaches, reaching Eyemouth and offering excellent views. Despite the shelter provided by Hurkur Rocks, occasional storms generate high waves and dramatic plumes of spume over the sea wall. The historic harbour town of Eyemouth, a 15-minute drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed, features a sandy beach backed by a sea wall and popular rockpools at low tide. A nearby marine reserve attracts divers and seals are often spotted in the bay.
