A Legacy of Craft Butchery and Baking in Peebles
In the heart of Peebles, a family tradition of craft butchery and baking has thrived for generations. Since 1938, when W.T.S. Forsyth took over an established local butcher’s shop, the business has evolved, adapting to changing times while preserving its heritage.
What began with deliveries by pony and trap grew through wartime challenges, the introduction of speciality meats, and the opening of a bakery next door in 1982. Now led by the third generation, the butchers and bakers continue to uphold time-honoured skills, offering expertly crafted meats, handmade breads, and traditional pastries to the local community.
