Founded in 1992 by Paul Theakston, Black Sheep Brewery in Masham is a testament to blending time-honoured techniques with inventive brewing. As the ‘Black Sheep’ of the Theakston family, Paul established this brewery after the sale of his family’s longstanding business to a national brewer.
Rooted in over 200 years of brewing heritage, Black Sheep Brewery continues to create award-winning Yorkshire beers using traditional equipment and methods. Visitors to the brewery can witness the brewing process up close, sample a range of cask and keg beers, and enjoy hearty Yorkshire fare. The Visitor Centre, situated in the heart of the brewery, offers a unique opportunity to savour the beers where they are crafted, making it a destination of choice for enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
