The HandleBards cycling theatre company returns to Alnwick Castle with an energetic open-air performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth on 19 August 2026.

The HandleBards are cycling Shakespearean actors who carry all of their set, props and costumes on the back of their bikes. Known for their energetic open-air performances, they blend humour with inventive staging to create a Macbeth experience like you’ve never seen before.

This is an outdoor event, so come prepared with picnics, chairs and blankets to fully enjoy the experience.
