On 22 – 23 May 2026, the world-famous Melrose Sevens takes place in Melrose at The Greenyards, the birthplace of rugby sevens, and is one of the most celebrated sporting events in the Scottish Borders.

First played here in 1883, the tournament remains the oldest rugby sevens competition in the world. Over two lively days, teams from across the globe compete before enthusiastic crowds showcasing their skill and speed. The weekend comes to a close with the Saturday Party Night till the early hours.
