Dog Policy Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our frequently asked questions page to help get the best from your stay with four-legged friends in tow.

At Crabtree & Crabtree, we believe every member of the family deserves a memorable holiday — including the four‑legged ones. Dogs bring joy, adventure and companionship, and we want their stay to feel just as welcoming as yours.

That’s why we created C&C Paws: a curated collection of properties designed with dogs (and their humans) in mind. Each stay includes thoughtful touches such as poo bags and bowls, clear guidance on where dogs are welcome indoors, and a garden for fresh air and play. Everything is in place so you can relax, unwind and enjoy your time together.

Dog Policy FAQ’s

What else might be available at a property?

Some properties may have outside taps and provide towels. Any additional provisions will be specified in the dog friendly section of the property listing.

What is the difference between properties marked as “dog friendly” and “dogs welcome” and those in the C&C Paws collection?

Properties in the C&C Paws collection go that little bit further to ensure dogs are made particularly welcome.
Dog friendly properties allow dogs in the living/kitchen/utility areas. There may also be no outside space available, and no provisions are made for dogs.
Dogs welcome properties accept dogs, but they are not allowed in the living rooms and must be kept in the kitchen/utility areas. There may also be no outside space available, and no provisions are made for dogs.

Do you charge for dogs?

We charge a fee per dog to cover additional cleaning following your stay. Fees vary per property from £10 to £45.

Can I travel with more than one dog?

Dogs are welcome at properties marketed as dog-friendly but you must not exceed the number of dogs allowed in the property unless with prior agreement of the Owner. Many of our dog friendly properties will accept two or possibly even more dogs on request. Please contact us at info@crabtreeandcrabtree.com or give us a call on +44(0)1573 226711.

Can I travel with other pets?

As well as dogs we have also found accommodation for guests travelling with cats, horses, parrots and more. Please refer to our T&C’s for more information. If you do have a more unusual request, please contact us at info@crabtreeandcrabtree.com or give us a call on +44(0)1573 226711 to find out more.

Is my dog allowed onto the beds and furniture?

No. Dogs are not allowed on beds or on the soft furniture at any property as specified in the dog friendly section of the property listing.

Is my dog allowed in the bedrooms?

No. Whilst dogs are welcome in the main living areas of the properties in the C&C Paws collections they are not allowed in bedrooms for cleaning and hygiene purposes at any property as specified in the dog friendly section of the property listing.

Will the garden be fully enclosed?

We cannot guarantee any garden will be fully secure or enclosed as smaller dogs may be able to crawl through holes, and bigger dogs could jump fencing. Owners must ensure they always supervise their dogs and keep them on leads where required. Some properties are also near or in farmland where farm animals will be present or near roads.

 Are dog beds provided?

Whilst some properties may have dog beds available, this is not a requirement we set. As dogs require different types and sizes of beds, the properties cannot meet every need. Please take your own dog bed or crate.

Can my dog be left in the property?

As unfamiliar surroundings can be unsettling for dogs, we kindly ask that they are not left alone in C&C properties. If helpful, we would be very happy to recommend local dog sitters. Some properties may allow dogs to be left for short periods if properly crated. Please contact us at info@crabtreeandcrabtree.com or give us a call on +44(0)1573 226711 to discuss the specific allowances at each property.

Can you arrange a dog sitter?

Yes, dog sitters can be booked. Please contact us at info@crabtreeandcrabtree.com or give us a call on +44(0)1573 226711 to find out more.

What are my responsibilities as a dog owner?
