Shakespeare at Traquair returns from 27 – 30 May 2026 and 3 – 6 June 2026, with its much-loved open-air promenade theatre inviting audiences to wander through the historic gardens as the story unfolds around them.

This year the company presents The Taming of the Shrew. Scenes unfold in different corners of the estate, with the audience moving from place to place creating a theatrical experience that feels intimate, immersive and wonderfully atmospheric.

Run by a passionate community theatre group that has staged productions here since the mid-1990s, the event blends the magic of Shakespeare with the beauty of one of Scotland’s most storied country houses.
