Hawick is the largest of the Border towns and is internationally famous for producing fine quality knitwear as well as its rugby team.
The town is located in the very heart of Border Reiver country and is steeped in history and tradition. Hawick has one of the oldest Border Common Ridings and celebrates both the capture of an English Flag in 1514 at a place called Hornshole and the ancient custom of riding the marches or boundaries of the common land.

Alongside this the Borders Textile Towerhouse showcases the heritage of the textile industry in a restored 16th century tower house.
