Each cottage has its own front door and there is a shared courtyard to the front of the property. Each cottage works well individually but can be taken together to accommodate larger groups. The owners live in a farmhouse to the side of the cottages and while they are on hand to help with any questions, they are equally respectful of guests privacy.

The farm has a Gold Award for Green Tourism and uses eco-friendly technology with its own wind turbine and solar panels which supply the electricity to the farmhouse and cottages.

The Little Things We Love

The handmade staircase leads to a very sweet galleried bedroom with exposed beams, antique furnishings and en-suite bathroom.

Don't take our word for it...

We enjoyed a wonderful short break at Middle Cottage. The owners made us feel very welcome and provided lots of 'home grown' goodies in the welcome basket! The cottage was warm, comfortable and very tastefully decorated, a lovely place to be.

Don't take our word for it...

Isolated location but this was made up for by the warm welcome we received on arrival . The cottage is very well looked after, spotless and well equipped with all you need for your stay. The hosts are very friendly and can offer loads of advice about the area, where to visit, eat etc should you require it. Would definitely recommend.

Don't take our word for it...

We had a wonderful stay at Middle Cottage. Surprisingly warm too, for a stone cottage which was a bonus in December/January! Made very welcome by the owner on arrival. It was easily up to the high standard of the previous Crabtree & Crabtree accommodation we had used. Would happily recommend.

Don't take our word for it...

We loved the cottage. It had everything we needed and more. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. Good quality bedding and linen and a very comfortable bed. The Wi-Fi was adequate and the DAB radio system was a bonus. The owner made us very welcome. Their fields are sprawling so we had plenty of areas to walk our dog. Lots of walks from the cottage.

One word Excellent. Lovely cottage and very nice people. The owner showed me his restoration work shop with an old Bentley circa 1930 in for service. A very special place for a holiday.

Friendly, welcoming hosts, property was as described and everything we wanted.
Haywood party, 21st March 2024

Don't take our word for it...

We've loved everything about Middle Cottage - internally and externally. It's a perfect escape to enjoy the wonders of this fine region - despite us being big fans of Northumberland, some of them new to us. For example, Wallington (National Trust) - brilliant; Sweethope Loughs - idyllic lake with excellent walks and edible mushrooms to forage; Chollerford a great spot at the George Hotel for river swimming); the Feathers Inn at Hedley on the Hill; Corbridge - Grants cake shop is so worth a visit!). Here at the cottage, the owners made us feel so welcome, the welcome basket is such a nice touch, the grounds are great, the sun has even shone most of the time. Plus Crabtree have been a delight to deal with - we'll be back!
