Overview

A stunning, period farmhouse set in captivating Borders countryside and meticulously renovated to an exceptionally high standard, Halliburton provides an outstanding setting for memorable family get-togethers, house parties and sporting lets.

Meticulously renovated to an exceptionally high standard

For those seeking a much needed escape from it all, the far reaching views and peace and quiet will be a much needed draw.

Sitting less than an hour from Edinburgh, it is also perfectly placed for enjoying a short break - why not bring family or friends for a weekend of outdoor adventures! - 4 x 4 driving, clay shooting and fishing can all be easily arranged nearby.

Presented in a traditional country house style, the spacious accommodation features a number of interesting pieces sourced by the owners including a blend of antique furniture punctuated by delightful objets d’art, offset against soft, earthy colours and muted tweeds in keeping with the surroundings.

Downstairs there’s an elegant drawing room and a separate cosy sitting room both with magnificent, uninterrupted views over rolling Borders countryside. The large farmhouse kitchen and dining area provide the perfect setting for convivial cooking and long, atmospheric meals. A large boot room / drying room provides plenty of space for outdoor kit and dogs.

Upstairs the overall look is timeless. The charming bedrooms offer complete flexibility with a winning combination of calming, neutral colours, interesting antique pieces and wonderfully inviting beds with feather duvets and pillows and Egyptian cotton bed linen topped with cosy wool blankets.

Halliburton is set in a wonderfully tranquil setting, with an attractive, fully-enclosed garden and breathtaking views over open countryside. A sheltered outside dining area is the perfect spot to sit and watch the sun set over the hills.

"We loved our stay at Halliburton thank you so much for recommending it to us, we will be booking again. The house was amazing & so well equipped, we really appreciated the tray of nibbles & essentials we found on our arrival for us & the dog. We love cooking & it was wonderful to have such a good kitchen with every appliance & baking tin you would ever need, we even cooked drop scones on the wood stove in the living room. Thank you to Crabtree & Crabtree and thank you to the owners for providing us with such a wonderful base for our holiday which was better than we imagined."

We were all very impressed and would goes as far as to say it is the best property and experience we have had as a group.
