Overview

Sitting in a peaceful location in the foothills of the Eildon Hills, this former 19th Century coach house combines all the charms of country living in the very heart of Border country.

Perfect base for country sports enthusiasts

Close to middle Tweed fishing beats and the picturesque villages of St. Boswells and Melrose, it is a perfect base for country sports enthusiasts or those looking to explore the scenic attractions of the area. Set around a private courtyard in the rolling lowlands, you will find little to interrupt the day here other perhaps than the odd passing tractor and a cheery wave from the local farmer.

Inside, the property benefits from a generously proportioned double aspect drawing room presented in a traditional country house style. This includes an extensive library which guests are welcome to enjoy in front of the warming ambience of a large open fire. The original coach house windows are a characterful feature of this room which fully maximise the sunshine and light overlooking the courtyard towards open fields beyond.

The beamed kitchen and dining room successfully combine both traditional and contemporary finishes while a large separate utility/boot room is perfect for drying off the four-legged members of the party!

Reviews

"Thank you for organising our short stay at Coachman’s Cottage. What a delightful place it was. It is a beautifully presented property, with all you could need for a happy and peaceful few days. I was very impressed with the speed with which Crabtree & Crabtree answered and dealt with our one query and thankful for the swift resolution. We will definitely make a return visit. We left feeling really refreshed and relaxed, and overjoyed to have seen the swallows returning to the courtyard. Also have to say we fell a bit in love with the pig who lives across the track. Oh, and the wisteria was beautiful too. We met the owner who was out walking her lovely dogs on the morning we left. Your other properties look fantastic too, so we are looking forward to being return customers."

Deans family

"We found Coachman's Cottage to be very fascinating and relaxing. We particularly loved all the books, the bird feeders outside the downstairs bedroom and the fire."

Tait family

"Thank you for arranging for us to stay in this cottage last week which was a most enjoyable holiday despite a little rain. It was warm, comfortable and well fitted throughout. We cooked in each evening and had all the equipment we needed on all occasions. Certainly we now understand why you are so proud of the countryside in the area as it is all so beautiful and unspoilt."

Clifton family

"We had a lovely week again in Coachman's Cottage, that was our 3rd visit. Thanks for a great week."
