Head Gardener’s House, Floors Castle

 

Stay at the much-admired Head Gardener’s House at Floors Castle and elevate your stay with these exclusive experiences.

Stay for 7 nights from 26th July to 2nd August and enjoy an evening meal at the Terrace on Saturday 27th. Chris Weston, Head Chef to the Duke & Duchess of Roxburghe, will prepare a carefully curated menu incorporating ingredients grown and reared on the Roxburghe Estate and sourced from local sustainable and regenerative farms.

Stay for 7 nights from 2nd to 9th August and make the most of up to four complimentary tickets to Roxburghe Rocks, the estate’s music festival. The line-up includes three world-class tribute acts, supported by local sensation The Balancing Ducks. Experience iconic glam rock anthems with The Bowie Experience, upbeat soul and disco classics with Capitol Motown & Soul Band, and sing-a-long disco hits with 21st-century Abba.

Stay for 7 nights from 9th to 16th August and enjoy a private garden tour with fizz and canapés for up to four guests. Join the Assistant Head Gardener, Kate McClorey, for an exclusive after-hours exploration of the key aspects of the Walled Garden, gaining in-depth insights into its history, design, planning and sources of inspiration. Tailored to suit the season and the flowers in bloom, August’s star attractions are the dahlias and the hot border.

The Clock Tower and Neville Tower at Bamburgh Castle

 

Feel the wind in your hair and the sand between your toes during an exclusive yoga session on Bamburgh beach when staying in one of the castle apartments. Guided by Deb Swift Yoga, you’ll dedicate time to grounding yourself against the stunning backdrop of the castle and North Sea, feeling your stresses melt away as you activate your balance, flexibility, and mindfulness.

This experience can be enjoyed one-to-one with your instructor, or in a group of up to four people. Taught at a gentle pace and with yoga mats provided for you, this 60-minute class is sure to be a truly memorable highlight of your holiday.

Neville Tower: Stays of 3 or 7 nights from 12th-19th July

We cannot guarantee that a session will be available for your first choice of date and time, but if not we will endeavour to accommodate you either with an alternative slot or with a session with one of our other recommended instructors. Housedon Haugh and Crookham Eastfield

 

Enjoy a private two-hour watercolour painting class in the beautiful grounds of your holiday home when staying on select dates at Housedon Haugh or Crookham Eastfield. Set in the rolling hills of north Northumberland, they’re perfect for get-togethers of family or friends in search of rural tranquillity and artistic inspiration.

Led by an experienced artist and tutor, your class will be tailored to your interests and level of artistic expertise. From the basics of shading and line drawing to improving brush technique and colour composition, you’ll be able to develop your skills as you connect to your surroundings.

Housedon Haugh: Stays of 7 nights between 5th and 12th July

Crookham Eastfield: Stays of 7 nights between 5th and 31st July

Grieve's Cottage and Papple Farmhouse at Papple Steading

 

Stay on select dates at Grieve’s Cottage or Papple Farmhouse and enjoy a woodland foraging walk followed by food and drink served by Buck & Birch. An award-winning local craft distillery founded on the principles of foraging and connectivity to the natural world, Buck & Birch will join you at your property and serve up a delicious selection of seasonal wild canapés and non-alcoholic cocktails, highlighting the fantastic array of ingredients and flavours available in Scotland.

Grieve’s Cottage: Either a 7-night stay from 5th-12th July or a 4-night stay from 8th-12th July, with the experience taking place on Wednesday 10th July. Does not include the foraging walk, please see T&Cs below.

Papple Farmhouse: Either a 3-night stay from 12th-15th July, a 4-night stay from 15th-19th July, or a 7-night stay from the 12th-19th July with the experience taking place on Friday 12th or Thursday 18th July.

T&Cs: The experience can be booked at Papple Farmhouse on Friday 12th July or Thursday 18th July. The foraging walk element of the experience will be unavailable at Grieve’s Cottage on 10th July, but you will still enjoy a full tasting experience including insights into the process and origins of the foraged drinks. Shepherd’s House and Wagtail

 

Enjoy a hamper filled with local produce when staying at Shepherd’s House in Hadrian’s Wall country or when making a romantic escape to Wagtail shepherd’s hut. Curated by the Corbridge Larder, they’ll be stocked with goodies including local charcuterie, honey, jams, cheeses, cakes, biscuits, oils, chocolate, and bread – reflecting the diversity and innovation of producers in the surrounding area. The hamper will be tailor-made to your tastes, including the addition of local beers, ciders, or wines and bubbly from Denhoffer.
