The School of Textiles & Design at Heriot Watt University is the second oldest textile institution in the world dating back to 1883. It is one of the foremost textile institutions, with links to leading designers and manufacturers including Dame Vivienne Westwood, Bruce Oldfield, Jasper Conran, Mary Quant and Colin McDowell.
Each summer, the School opens its doors to offer an exciting workshop programme where you can combine a break in the beautiful Scottish Borders and take the opportunity to learn some new design skills in an area synonymous with textile production.
Available as either a 3 or 5 day course, you will learn about screen printing processes, develop design ideas, understand composition, colour, and textile techniques leading to production of a final printed piece.
Machine Knitted Fabrics
