Emma Crabtree - Director
Responsible for: Founding Crabtree & Crabtree and of course providing our name! Handpicking the luxury holiday homes for our portfolio and possessing endless knowledge on all aspects of holidaying in our area.
Lives: Near Berwick-upon-Tweed
Described by the rest of us as: Passionate, a skilled multitasker and a major dog lover.
My ideal weekend in the Borders & Northumberland would be spent: Going for a long walk with Mrs Brown & Widget in tow, followed by a trip to our local butcher to pick up supplies for the rest of the weekend. You can’t beat Sunday trips down the coast to enjoy beach walks and afternoon tea on Northumberland’s Heritage coast.
Mrs Brown and Widget – Office Dogs
Responsible for: ensuring office morale is at an all time high on mornings when they appear!
Live: By Emma’s side
Described by the rest of us as: two pups with boundless energy, cheeky personalities, a love of their countryside lifestyle, complete naturals in front of a camera... and partial to a treat or two!
Avril Herdman – Bookkeeping and Accounts
Responsible for: Accounts, accounts, fishing, accounts! In charge of all owner, guest and client accounts and payments.
Lives: Near Duns
Described by the rest of us as: Funny, a numbers whizz, green fingered.
My ideal weekend in the Borders & Northumberland would be spent: With as much time out in my garden as possible, coupled with some long walks with the dogs! In the evenings I'll head to my favourite restaurants to enjoy some of the local produce; we have so many great companies producing food and drink in the Borders and Northumberland that it's a joy to eat in or out!
Lynn Davies – Head of Sales and Office Manager
Responsible for: Office managing, guest liaison and helping with the selection of the perfect property for each person's Crabtree holiday.
Lives: Near Kelso
Described by the rest of us as: Extremely organised, energetic, friendly.
My ideal weekend in the Borders & Northumberland would be spent: I love the outdoors and spend lots of time running or rambling in the nearby Cheviots – however I always need a companion, I’ve got a notoriously bad sense of direction and get lost quite easily! This would be followed by an evening in one of my favourite local restaurants and a trip to a wine bar with my husband and friends.
Kirsty McConnell – Marketing Executive
Responsible for: Spreading the word of our beautiful properties.
Lives: Near Melrose
Described by the rest of us as: Full of life, creative, meticulous.
My ideal weekend in the Borders & Northumberland would be spent: Getting involved with as many outdoor activities as I can: surfing, rock climbing, hiking, visiting my local alpacas... there is always something new to try in this area and what are the weekends for if not going on outdoor adventures! As a relative newbie to the area, other time is spent sampling as much local produce as I can and hosting friends and family who visit to explore the hills and beaches with me.
Angie Herdman – Sales and Systems Consultant
Responsible for: Bookings and guest liaison, working with our internal systems. Usually the first point of contact if you give us a call.
Lives: Near Coldstream
Described by the rest of us as: lively, dependable and the owner of an infectious laugh.
My ideal weekend in the Borders & Northumberland would be spent: Buying ice cream and fish and chips from Eyemouth - I highly recommend Giacopazzi's if you're over that way - before eating them on Coldingham Beach! Spending time going for long walks along the beautiful riverside at Norham with my energetic dogs. I also love to bake so I’d have to fit that into the weekend too!
Sue Fairgrieve - Property Manager
Responsible for: Property management and owner liaison.
Described by the rest of us as: friendly, positive, diligent and prone to creative bursts!
My ideal weekend in the Borders & Northumberland would be spent: Time in the brilliant outdoors......with the occasional spot of shopping and good glass of wine! Happy days - walking on the riverside, forest and beach with mud-coated labrador in tow. Top spots - watching the sunset over Floors Castle from Friars Haugh; the breathtaking panoramic views across the Cheviot Hills from Dere Street; the Cornhill Village Shop for yummy picnic lunches; the Collingwood Arms Restaurant for......everything really!, and lazy Sunday wanders along the stunning heritage coastline.
Christine Auchinachie - Property Advisor (weekends)
Responsible for: Bookings and guest liaison on Saturdays and Sundays (and occasionally throughout the week).
Lives: Near Cornhill-on-Tweed
Described by the rest of us as: enthusiastic, spiritual, optimistic and accommodating.
My ideal weekend in the Borders & Northumberland would be spent: On the beach at Cocklawburn, paddling and wandering amongst the rock pools... Local hedgerow foraging, often resulting in elderberry syrup for the winter, occasionally rosehip too, and sloes for a certain alcoholic drink.... Walking up my local hill at Pawston with its 360* panorama ranging from the Cheviot hills to the Tweed valley, a must see! Bee-keeping and helping spin out the honeycombs which is very sticky and massively fun... treasure indeed!
