Holiday Cottages in Haddington, Pencaitland
and the surrounding area

Luxurious handpicked holiday homes and holiday cottages in Haddington, Pencaitland and beyond. An ideal base to explore the stunning East Lothian coastline.

The Royal Burgh of Haddington is a pretty market town which was built in the 12th Century and sits proudly in the centre of East Lothian. Here you will find an excellent selection of grocers, wine shops, florists and butchers sitting alongside charming gift, clothes shops and craft galleries. Relax and watch the world go by in one of the many cafes, delicatessens or tea rooms in the town including Diggory’s or the Peter Potter Gallery with idyllic views over the River Tyne.

For something a little more substantial The Golf Tavern has an excellent reputation for fresh food and friendly service. Freshly picked vegetable boxes, including fruit and eggs can also be delivered straight to your door by Phantassie Organics, or the Knowes Farm Shop in the village of East Linton offers a huge selection of home-grown and home-made goodies including locally reared quality meats and game, delicious pates, soups, jams and chutneys as well as local crab, lobster and langoustines. Head to Haddington farmers’ market on the last Saturday of every month for a friendly atmosphere and a tempting selection of home produced specialities.

Just a few miles along the road is the charming village of Pencaitland, perched on the banks of Tyne Water. Stroll along the high street to Rosearista Coffee Shop for delicious sandwiches, cakes and warming drinks, or to the welcoming village pub, The Winton, for lunch or dinner made with the freshest produce from local suppliers.

Overlooking St David’s Loch is the magnificent Winton Castle, where visitors can admire the stunning 17th century architecture or discover the estate via the numerous picturesque walking routes. After a day spent exploring, those looking to sample the local tipple can head to nearby Glenkinchie Distillery for an insightful tour and whisky tasting.
