Bedrooms

The sleeping accommodation comprises four bedrooms.  Two double bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with a superking bed) with en-suite bathrooms and two twin bedrooms which share a family bathroom.  All the bedrooms have plenty of storage space with wardrobes in all the bedrooms and a chest of drawers in the double bedrooms.  The accommodation is all on the ground floor and is suitable for elderly or mobility-impaired guests. 

Bath and shower rooms

The double bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom.  The en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom has a large, free-standing bath, separate walk-in shower with ‘rainforest' shower head, basin and WC.  The en-suite bathroom to the second double bedroom has a large, walk-in shower with ‘rainforest' shower head, basin and WC.  The family bathroom has a large, free-standing bath, separate walk-in shower with ‘rainforest' shower head, basin and WC.  A bath and hand towels is provided per guest.

Kitchen and dining room

The spacious, open-plan kitchen and dining area comprises a fully-equipped kitchen with double oven with 5-ring hob, grill and warming oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge / freezer and washing machine with dryer.  Leading from the kitchen is a dining area with large dining table seating up to 8 guests.  Guests receive a complimentary welcome hamper of locally-produced goodies on arrival.

Sitting room and sun room

The cosy sitting room has two large sofas (2 and 3 seater) and a log burner (logs are provided). There is plenty of rainy day entertainment provided including TV with Freeview, DVD player, stereo system, Nintendo Game Club and a vast library of DVDs, books and games.  The south-facing sun room provides additional seating with a sumptuous sofa and matching dog bed! 

Garden and grounds

Groom's Cottage is one of four very pretty, period cottages which were once the stables and grooms' quarters for the Tillmouth Park Estate. The cottages are set out in an L shape to make best use of the light and views and have an attractive lawned courtyard to the front which serves as an additional garden area.  Groom's Cottage also has a large, sheltered, walled garden to the side with two outside tables, chairs for eight and a huge parasol.  There is a gravelled parking area with parking for two cars. 

Catering and housekeeping

We offer a range of catering options including homemade meals delivered to the cottage, a food-shopping, picnic hamper and wine delivery service or the services of a full or part-time cook. A representative from C&C will meet guests on arrival and facilities are available for additional cleaning or linen changes throughout guest's stay at additional cost. 

Children's' facilities

A travel cot and high chair are available on request. 

Dogs

Dogs are welcome at Groom's Cottage. There is a fee of £15 per dog.
