The Boathouse Fishings
The Boathouse Fishings comprise 1,000 yards of right bank fishing with a boat and ghillie for up to three rods on Gliddeyhaugh and Canny beats situated above and below the house to just above Norham Bridge. The pools range from 6 to 25 feet, with mainly slow to medium movement depending upon the height. The lower part is easily fished from the bank or by wading, the upper part is fishable only from the boat. The beats excel in low water when many fish tend to congregate around Norham Bridge. There is a long “glide” in front of The Boathouse which is particularly good for spring salmon and is a popular summer sea trout lie. The beats have been very lightly fished over recent years. The catch records for the upper Ladykirk beats (the opposite bank) give an indication of potential.
