Clay pigeon shooting
Enquiry>There are two clay-shooting grounds in the area, both offering interesting stands and varied set-ups. Clay shooting is ideal for guns to hone their skills before the start of the season and for experienced clay-busters to improve their scores.
For non-shooting guests wanting to try their hand at shooting clays, no previous experience is necessary and all equipment can be provided by the shooting ground. Children are also welcome to have a go depending upon their age and build.
Popular for special events and corporate days are simulated game days where hidden launchers simulate all types of game from driven grouse and high pheasants to bolting rabbits, springing teal and crossing pigeons. Competitions for larger groups can be arranged.
Informal or formal tuition can be arranged at the ground. For game shots wishing to improve their shot, we would recommend the services of local qualified instructor Ian Hendy who will accompany guests to the ground.
If you intend to shoot clays using your own ammunition it is worth checking with us beforehand to ensure that you have the correct cartridges; some clay grounds have preferences regarding wads and loads at their facilities.
