Overview

Nestled gently on the banks of the River Tweed amidst the rich dramatic beauty of the landscape made famous by the writings of Sir Walter Scott, this really is an enchanting spot.

Nestled gently on the banks of the River Tweed

Built in the early 19th century, Dryburgh Stirling One with its ornate orchard gate and fairytale turrets was originally part of the aristocratic folly of the 11th Earl of Buchan.

Now offered as two outstanding holiday lets, the cottages at Dryburgh have undergone a complete transformation to ensure the highest level of guest comfort throughout.

Sitting at the end of a no-through road surrounded by scenic parkland and woodland, the area is steeped in history and heritage, positioned just a stone’s throw from the romantic medieval ruins of Dryburgh Abbey, the mighty sandstone statue of Sir William Wallace, and the Dryburgh chain link bridge.

With its captivating exterior and plush interior, No. 1 Stirling Towers will ease you into a holiday mindset in no time. Designed for four, the cottage has plenty of space for relaxation and entertaining with its warm ambient sitting room and woodburning stove, while a separate dining room with cosy open fire is an atmospheric spot to indulge in lovely evenings into the wee small hours.

The kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons, including a wine fridge to keep that crisp Chablis at the perfect temperature! There is a separate utility room for outdoor kit and the four-legged members of your party, leading onto the raised patio and lawned garden. Upstairs the two en-suite bedrooms enjoy the most fantastic views of the river and fishing guests can start their day in anticipation taking in the views over the bridge pool.

Reviews

"We have been staying at the Dryburgh Estates properties several times a year since 2017 but this is the first time that we have stayed in one of the Tower cottages. We were not disappointed as Stirling One has the same high standards of décor and cleanliness as the Steadings and the farmhouses. It has unrivaled views of the Tweed and lovely walks on the doorstep. We had a fantastic week. Thank you for the most generous and useful welcome basket. As usual booking through yourselves is very easy and if we ever have to ring with a query it is dealt with quickly and efficiently and with the utmost politeness."

We both love the Borders and have stayed in some lovely  places thanks to Crabtree & Crabtree. We will certainly be back whenever we possibly can. Thank you all again and to the team at Dryburgh for helping to make our special trip so special."

"We had a lovely time at Dryburgh Stirling One. The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully appointed and had many extra little touches that made it outstanding. We were blessed with good weather that enabled us to explore this very attractive area both locally - the dog loved the river walks - and the tea shops further afield. We hope to return and maybe climb the other two Eildon Hills!"

"We had an absolutely fantastic week at Dryburgh Stirling One. The best part was possibly watching the walkers go past and look at our cottage with envy! It truly is a fabulous property and had everything that could possibly be needed. The views across the Tweed are beyond words. I think you can tell we rather liked it and the whole Tweed valley area. We are already looking for when we could return, possibly in August. Please pass on our thanks and appreciation to both the house keepers for leaving the property so clean and to the owner for their attention to detail and investment into the whole holiday experience. It was totally appreciated."

Mchugh family

"I would like to say that from booking the holiday and arriving at Dryburgh Stirling One, everything went very smoothly. Upon arrival we were fortunate enough to meet the housekeeper and she was very welcoming and helpful. Both properties were amazing, even better than the photos! Everything from fixtures and fittings to bedding, towels, toiletries, garden furniture etc were excellent. The properties were very clean and even though dogs are allowed to stay there, there was no "doggy" smell. The welcome pack upon arrival was the best we've ever experienced, absolutely excellent! The views were stunning, the most tranquil beautiful, peaceful place we've stayed in a while and we were so lucky with the hot weather! I would definitely recommend the properties we stayed in to anybody, and thanks to Crabtree & Crabtree that is why we have discovered them, I would not hesitate to recommend your company for booking holidays and will definitely use you again when looking for a holiday home. Many thanks to your team and the owners/housekeeper at Dryburgh Stirling One for making our holiday a wonderful experience."
